My brother who has a iphone said that to me and i dismissed it as nonsense,he said 3 times,i guess i owe an apology,i envisaged a different scenario that your phone was doing it without any interaction from you as in it was just lying around and doing it on its own

Well i took it that because i was doing nothing other than pickin it up to use and pressing the home button that it was already doing it in the background

Just goes to show something so simple can become so complicated and stress you out. Ive still got to sort out the backups but will go home backup the way he showed me then delete other ones as i dont know which one is corrupt and he said the only way is to restore n try n use that backup. I think not .

something like that. So if its on the side in your pocket etc and you pick it up and accidentally press the home button twice it will play what ever is in your music files. You have to press the home button to unlock it to use it! I also explained that it goes off whilst in my pocket - his answer was well if you touch it with your finger or anything in your pocket it will set the music off!
But what i cant understand is to be able to use it you have to slide the lock bar! and i dont get as far as that before i see/hear music playing

Now this has only happened recently but ive had the handset well over a yr. Seems since the new ios5 came out there have been these sorts of problems - that not many people seem to know the answer to.

Just had a look at my friends iphone.
Pressing the home button twice while the screen is locked will bring up the music player on the screen but it wont start playing until you press play.
I would consider it a fault if it were to start playing music if it was not being touched at all as you were describing, unless someone was playing a trick on you while it was unattended.
