I will see what I can come up with for you Rob, kinda new to convertx. Have you ever used it to make a menu before with scene selections? Or is it the combining of the files and then getting the menu that is the issue?

I'll give a look as well as i'm also fairly new to convertXtodvd. Between the 3 of us, we should be able to figure something out.

ConvertXtoDVD has a lot more choices for menus than dvd flick. I think they have 12 options or so. I've used a couple, and they came out pretty good. It even looped the music to play over the menus.

I ran two .avi files through for learning and it appeared to be pretty straightforward on the menu setup. I just left everything set to the default this time around and it worked pretty good. You can easily adjust menu creation and other points of interest. Like how often you would like a chapter created and so forth. Perhaps there is a specific problem that it is throwing at you that I am overlooking.

ConvertX leaves DVD Flick many miles behind in the dust.. It really is a great program.

Besides the built-in menu templates, there are additional ones you can download from the VSO ConvertX forum.. Depending on which template you choose, you can even end up with a DVD that looks as good as a commercial one.

I'm still pretty much a newbie at this, but if you read through the forum post and download a copy of the manual, you can use your own backgrounds or video on the menus and pretty much customize them the way you like. The one I'm using now is the "Black Mirror with Video". You can use the default font or change it (on all templates), and on a multiple episode disc (wish I knew how to do a cap & insert the pic...). your title is at the top on the main screen, each episode is listed and shows a small video clip next to it. Within the episodes, it puts a band of video at the top of the screen, below is the episode name with buttons for the chapters (I leave mine as the default - every 5 minutes), play & home... If you select the chapter button, it shows 6 chapters on a screen with the chapter #s below small video clips and buttons for back, home, play and forward.

For a single episode or a movie, I've been using the VSO Glossy Clear Backgroud for up to 2 titles... With only 1 file, it displays the Title name, chapters and play on top of a video clip which fills the entire screen... Looks pretty nice.

I've barely scratched what it can do, probably the best way is to just pick something and try it.. You don't need to burn (you can turn it off in the Burn Settings).. Once its finished converting and building your iso, you can always mount on a virtual drive (Slysoft's Virtual CloneDrive is great and its free), and watch on your computer to see if its what you want... If not, delete and start over..

Hopefully I've been able to help a bit.

sorry for the delay in response,,, been working alot.
i have yet to use the menu part of it. i normally just dont make a menu just convert the avis to vob's and urn from that. but with these avi's i have now(home stuff) i want to make a menu so to say. and there is alot of options to choose from in here. i guess trying them and seeing what they can do will be fun i guess.

what im wanting to do is create a menu that will let me have the "scene selection".
i have put the 2 avi's and made a menu but it has it broke down by chapters in each file. im wanting it all together as one if its possible.

Am i makeing any sence here?

    Yes, you're making sense..

I think probably the best thing to do would be to download the manual from the VSO forum. If you still have questions, they'd probably be the folks to ask.. There are some really helpful experts and the developers do frequent the forum.

oh it will join as many as you want it to do. might render a bigger vob files than a dvd5 can handle but it will do it.

as you said, and i have found out there is alot convertxtodvd can do. just learning it and doing it is the things.

    @Joleca
thanks for the link i will have to look into that. not much of a manual type guy though. like the hands on approach..... but i will look into it.
