Default Whats your Avi. Converting method?

Iam new to the Avi. to dvd file converting and not having a lot of success I have no problems joining two Avi. files to make one file, the problem is when I use "Ultra Video Converter" to convert the Avi. file to dvd files. I guess the file is to big and will not properly convert. So could anyone tell me your technique? Thanks

I primarily use ConvertXtoDVD, a payware, to convert my avi files to dvd compliant. An easy program to use, and one that has a how to guide created by a few members here, is dvd flick, which is a freeware program.

If you have any questions, a few of us, including myself, ferg, endo, greensman, 7th, eva, and a few others will be glad to help ya out.

My favorite has also become ConvertXtoDVD, which as stated is payware. Though, i'm still a fan of freeware DvdFlick which has also been mentioned.

There's a simple little guide for DvdFlick here: Dvd Flick ~ A Basic Guide

I would start by checking into Dvd Flick, and if you have any questions there are quite a few people here who could help.

As the others have stated, I have really become a fan of ConvertXtoDVD, but like 7th I also still like the freebies. I have used DVD Flick a few times but for a freebie I really like AVStoDVD.

I'm another ConvertXtoDVD person. It's pretty easy to use.
Or, you could try Format Factory. It does a whole bunch of formats, video and music, and it's pretty easy to use as well. Free, too --> here.

I personally use WinaviVideo converter, especially when converting avi's to dvd and then burn it straight away to DVD so it can play on my DVD player. Just made a topic for it, you can check it out here:

The earliest edition i've used it 8.0 and that had its own burning feature as soon as the conversion was finished. Or burning could be left to a later date, all that would mean is, the DVD folder will have to be selected and then it can be burned to DVD.
