Salgado was at Real Madrid for 10 years

Blackburn full-back Michel Salgado has agreed a contract extension until the end of next season.

Salgado, 35, arrived at Ewood Park in August 2009 after his release from Real Madrid and has made 50 appearances for the club, scoring one goal.

Rovers boss Steve Kean said: "To keep Michel here is great news, his experience is invaluable and his enthusiasm infectious.
"He's a winner and you can never have too many of those."

Earlier this month Salgado, who played 53 times for Spain, declared

himself to be "happy with the fans, with the club and with the respect they have for me".
