Thanks GM Those are the very first disks of that make in that drive, there may be a little learning curve for the Litey to start liking them better, not sure though. But for the price I am relatively pleased, if they will last. Thanks for the heads up Ray

Edit: Here is a Verb that I just finished at 12x. Same drive.

I'm assuming since you're backing up games you're using dual layer Verbies?

If so, that's what you need to be using. I know they're a little more pricey, but for dual layer burning Verbatim are the way to go.

They had them on sale in maplins in blanchardstown a couple of months ago, check it out, 100 verbatim dvds for something like 35 euro?

I believe the way things are going now are a media streamer and a 1 terabyte hard drive, (99 euro each from komplett.ie), just copy your movies etc onto your pc, transfer to hard drive, and play direct from media streamer. Cuts the disks out altogether. Ok, wouldn't work for playing games, but much better for movies.

Wow....99 Euros for a 1TB drive. I believe I got mine for around $99us from newegg. Don't know if they ship to y'all or if you're gonna need a power converter to use them.

yea, us xbox console modders have to use verbatiums, they work the best in regards to the stock drive reading them, we have also proven that any media other than verbs. stresses out the laser eventually rendering it useless. so for backing up games on a 360 console i would only use/recommend dual layer verbatiums. however, i have never had any problems, there are reports that they moved their manafacturing facilitys to a different country and the quality has depleted if it comes from that country. there is a way to tell by the packaging, but like i said i have never had any problems, so i dont worry about it. as far as dvds go, TY and VERBS are the way to go, although honestlly, out of all of the blank media i have used in burning dvd's (roughly 200-300) no matter what media it was i never had an issue with quality or playback. although some dvd freaks might beg to differ

  9. Thanks axxxo thanked for this post
