I only bought it after the update, i will try another fille tomorrow
As suggested wheelo, try a burning a movie just to see what happens.
Are the via drivers for the sata card removed? They may need to be reinstalled.
Could also try a different sata port on the card (i think there are 3 if its the same as mine)
I too have an imedia 5054 so ill try the same setup as yourself during the week to see if we can narrow down the problem!
Also limit yourself to using the computer for absolutely nothing else, switch off screensaver, change settings to best performance and dont even move the mouse while imgburn is running!
wheelo thanked for this post

OK guys, and the winner seems to be . . . . . . Ferg, I loaded the ISO onto the internal HDD and it flew through it 25 minutes including the check. it didn't fancy the cheap discs I bought to try it with, but when I put in a Verbatim, it burnt and played perfectly.
now my problem is that it took nearly 2 hours to put the ISO onto the HDD, so I now need a newer Faster way of putting the ISO onto the HDD.
@Axxxo, I put the driver back on previous,so it wasn't that. but now that we are on that, I have only one SATA card, but with more than one port, are you suggesting that I can use the same SATA card for both the new DVD burner AND the original purpose which was the jungleflasher and CK3 probe?? how??
Cheers for all your help, shall keep messing about and get back with the best solutions.

Happy to hear that it is sorted Wheelo. The fact that it took you 2 hrs to copy it over to your internal HDD should give you an indication of why ImgBurn was giving you the errors that it was. Don't really know much about all the console things, but I have burnt one or two movies in my day,, and if there is a way to go about wrongly, I have more than likely done it. The errors that ImgBurn was showing were almost definitely tied to your HDD for whatever reason.
As for your question of getting them faster to your HDD, what method are you using to get the files in the first place?

Ok the bit i missed is that you were running the program copying the game from an external! I would imagine that's the problem right there! As for copying the game over faster to your PC there is nothing you can do there but get a new computer, as was already explained the BUS speed will be too slow!! The computer will only run as fast as it's slowest component !
