how to bypass the electricity meter with a henly block advice needed

Hello All

Obvoilsey i am asking this question for a freind of a freinds dad. Cos he has no access to the interweb. And its all just theory not for practice

Supposing there was an old style anolog electricity meter in said Dads house. it recordes the usage in kwh, and a little spinny disc moves the numbers every so often.

Said Dad has heard of a henly block! Which apparantly you can put the 4 tails in of the meter, whilst still powering the freezer and such the meter disc spinny thing no longer spins.

Sound great to said Dad!!!

Question is is there a certain type of henly block required. and is there a certain way the wires must be inserted?

Diagrams are nice when provided

Just goto city eectrical and ask for a henley block and tails. You will probably need to cut the metal tie on the main supply to pull the fuse out and disconnect the supply into the house before you attempt, theortically of course, to get the electric for nothing.

Hello mate, I know the store. I think the tails are what is comeing out the meter already. so there already there, i think you put them into the henley just dont know which way around they go in. theroetically n that

if the old boy has the assistance of a meter reader then he is axeled, as the said meter reader will report back to base about the seal being broken, then the proverbial hits the fan.

our seal was broken for about 20 years,meters moved to 3 feet closer to kitchen to allow garage door slide along track and meter was in the way!

it isnt even the broken seal that the reader would notice so much as the decrease in usage.i live in an area noted for grow ops and believe me they sooner or later get caught.even that aside one jolt from screwing around with that meter and whoever was messing with it wouldnt have to worry about anything...............ever.

Seals. What the ones that swim in the water? Or the one's you can buy on fleabay! Or do you mean the Singer.

as mentioned above sudden usage/misusag is immediatly noticed, so a Gradual decrease is required, the usw of a magnet is easier, google would be your best friend here,

I think your interpretation is very much misled hunter? I doubt it's any lack of knowledge here that has resulted in you not receiving a satisfactory resolution to your query, it's more likely that the topic is one which is not best suited to this forum
