Default Can't Rip Karate Kid (2010)

Just got this movie for my kids. And as all you parents out there know how hard kids can be on a disc, I like to back up all my movies and leave the original untouched (by those lil rascals), so I let them watch the backup.

My disc stalls on backup with anydvd .

Help a guy out, Please (my kids are anxious to watch this one)

    Thanks in advance.

What version of AnyDVD are you using DNS? The most current is 6.7.1.0

Are you running another program with AnyDVD running in the background?

Is the disc surface clean and smudge or scratch free?

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm using Anydvd 6.5.7.0 and dvd43. I guy named Moh said it was real good (in another post)

Actually , after starting to use dvd43, my pc started acting up and froze several times. I thought it was the dvds I was trying to back up causing my probs and that anydvd could not back them up.

    Any hints ?

Personally I don't care for DVD43, when I tried it I had nothing but issues as well as it just not doing the job it was intended to do. But if you still want to keep it around that is your choice, however you should not have it running in conjunction with AnyDVD. As this will hinder AnyDVD's performance and more than likely give you sub par results, if any.
Also the latest version is 6.7.1.0 as posted here:Slysoft (Anydvd) Official/Beta Release Thread

    Here ya go DNS,

Rip to HDD with Anydvd 6700 or newer (use self ripper)

    Vob Blanker

Dvd Shrink to compress (94 % if you remove extra audio and advertisements)

    Imgburn

    Full disc

Started at 8144 Mb, and after Anydvd self ripper ended as 5874 Mb (lotta protection !)

    From Anydvd :

    Media is a DVD.
    Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 2084960 sectors (4072 MBytes)
Total size: 4169920 sectors (8144 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: THE_KARATE_KID
    Media is CSS protected!
Media is locked to region(s): 1!
    Video Standard: NTSC

Found & removed structural copy protection!
Found & removed invalid cell pieces!
Found & removed bogus title set(s)!
    Found & removed RCE protection!
    UDF filesystem patched!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
    Removed CSS copy protection!
Found & removed 17 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

By the way, DNS, skip dvd43, nothing but troubles and heartaches. Just stick with updated Anydvd and you are good !

    Default DVDFab

The best software for backing up your DVD's is DVDFab 8 it will back up anything and is cheap to buy and very easy to use.

    hope this helps

"The Best" is subject to opinion. I use DVD Fab on occasion as well as AnyDVD, although I prefer AnyDVD, on most occasions both pieces of software will get the job done.

I also had very sub-par luck with DVD43 and found it to conflict with other programs.

AnyDVD or DvdFab are certainly the way to go for new movies with newer protection.
