    Default Toy Story 3, Can't Rip / back up ?, Here's how

    Another hard rip from Disney

So far only able to backup to HDD with Anydvd 6700 (or newer) self ripper

Need to discover what to blank with vob blanker to create a burnable / playable disc

so far it seems that only a movie only disc is creatable.

    Stay tuned for updates (soon!)

You have actually confirmed that your backup is playable? Was you able to do the full disk or movie only? What was the compression ratio with Shrink?

I don't know what the fuss is all about, my 7thsinger (bless his heart) told me to do the following :

    1) rip to Hdd with the latest Anydvd (6717 beta)

    2) use vob blanker to get only the movie

    3) use fixVTS to process output files from vob blanker

    4) use dvd shrink and select reauthor mode

    a) select title 20
    b) deselect all audio files except for English 5.1
    c) at this point, you will notice no compression is necessary (default dvd shrink is 4464 Mb)
    d) select backup as iso output and process

    5) burn with imgburn

    The disc was fabulous !!

Many thanks to 7thsinger for his brillance !

it is playable with no problems. do not remember what the compression ratio was. it took about 5 minutes for dvd fab to open the disk and the rest was history as far as i'm concerned.

Great - this is closest I've got to instructions so thank you! Few questions if you wouldn't mind:

With anyDVD, do you mean just right clicking on the taskbar icon and clicking Rip Video DVD to Hard Disk? Hope so, as that's what I've done!

With Vob blanker, were there any specific settings you changed or just left it as default?

Then with fixVTS, did you have to process all of the output files from Vob blanker? or was there one particular one I should choose?

Basically all I want is a backup copy of my DVD on my hard drive so I'm not even bothered about burning it to DVD again!

    Any (idiotproof) instructions greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance

With Vob blanker, were there any specific settings you changed or just left it as default? VobBlanker has a multitude of possibilities. You can simply run the files through for clean-up. Or you can remove extras and unwanted logos and soundtracks.

Then with fixVTS, did you have to process all of the output files from Vob blanker? or was there one particular one I should choose? There is a quick guide for FixVTS here:

Hopefully that helps you somewhat. Any further questions just ask.
