Default Cannot Rip 30 Rock Season 3

Hi, I recently got the 3rd series of 30 Rock (Region 1) and have been trying to rip it to no avail.

    I have tried these methods so far;

    AnyDVD&DVD shrink. (cyclic redundancy check)
    AnyDVD Rip (DVD and image) (PS10 VOBU 4 2048410 190 CLONE 6)
Clone DVD (full ISO and DVD files rip) (File 1 D:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_4.VOB 23 IW2) when repairing defective dvd structure.
    DVD Decryptor
DVD Fab 6 (always enable pathfinder selected, as recommended in another thread) just constantly reading disk and does not load up after leaving for 2 hours

Any DVD does not even read Region coding, and says there is no CSS on the disk?
Video DVD (or CD) label: 30 Rock S3 D2
    Media is not CSS protected.
    Video Standard: NTSC
    Media is region free.
    Structural copy protection not found.
    RCE protection not found.
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
    Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 2!
but if i change AI to read all the time it finds (after a wait...) this:
Video DVD (or CD) label: 30 Rock S3 D2
    Media is not CSS protected.
    Video Standard: NTSC
    Media is region free.
AI scan forced, heuristic scan detected no protection!
Found & removed structural copy protection!
Found & removed invalid cell pieces!
    Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
    RCE protection not found.
    UDF filesystem patched!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 4 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 2!
DVD shrink will find the disk and run analysis even when i disable anyDVD (i am in Region 2, and this should be an R1 disk?)

sorry if this all seems nonsensical, i have recently used anydvd+dvdshrink to successfully rip Parks and recreation, which is the same NBC/Universal mix...

I have just managed to get Disk 1 to rip through DVD fab, it slowed considerably in the suspect areas but went through (slowly) AnyDVD could not manage Disk 1 and none seem to do disk 2

    I would appreciate any help

PS, i have the latest (non beta) versions of anydvd & clone, dvdFab6.2.1.8 and DVDshrink3.2

Allow me to start by stating that i have not ripped that particular series personally.

That being said, looking at the errors you so thoughtfully provided (thank you very much for all of the information) it is starting to look like a bad press situation. I hate to jump on that bandwagon, but all the info provided doesn't leave a whole lot left that it could be.

That being said, let's try a couple of things.

AnyDVD in ripper only mode, to your hard drive...what are your devices set to? If they are not set to slow and quiet change it. Putting them in this mode will take longer for a rip, but the software is able to patch through encryptions better.

If that is not successful there are two more little tricks i'd like you try.

The first is to run anyDVD in the background and rip with DvdFab. Ignore the error message!

Finally, the oldest trick in the book is using Dvd Shrink in reauthor mode with anyDVD running behind it.

I hope some of this is helpful.

Yep, it appears my trusty (old) Pioneer 1.09 is dying. It still rips some dvd's fine, but big studio films/TV shows always have trouble.

I just used a PC with an inferior burner and Anydvd and it worked first time.

thanks for your help, now i just have to decide which new burner to get

    Thanks for posting back.

Yes, drive's do go bad after time and (heavy) use. Good luck in your search for a new one.
