eurovox xl firmware upgrade?

Can I upgrade the eurovox xl firmware to get the cable channels in ireland via Nt( hell)?
It appears to be a clone as it has a grey unit under the grill.

If its a clone and it has the silver heatsink on the cpu then sorry to say no. It will flash OK but it will brick the clone box. Have you got onto your supplier, how long do you have it?

I have it since dec 08 and it worked well until NTL put the blocks on it.
Thats a pity as it sounded like there was an upgrade for nearly all of the eurovox's
Still will hold onto it as someone might crack it.

No worries are you 100% sure it has the heatsink on the CPU? I would still chance it with your supplier

no I couldnt be 100% sure. I can see thru the grid that it has a grey unit on the motherboard and just assume this is the heatsync.

If it was not a clone could it be updated ?

if it is not a clone then yes, it can be updated. my opinion is that you should open it if your supplier wont change it for you.if you look at the pictures on this thread you will have a better idea if you have a clone or not. if you need any more help, just post again and someone will help.

I see you are a fellow Blue. My suffering has been ongoing since 1979 however the blue revolution is really taking shape now.... really looking forward to thsi season.

i hope you are right, i hope to get over about 4/5 times this season again. The derby at the blue camp, and any other 4. if i can be of any help with the eurovox(limited knowledge), i have done one recently and it is simple to do, just shout and i will see what i can do

Its this one. see attached.

Maybe there is a different model name ?

I also have a eurovox Max but from what I read there is no fix for that one yet.
