keys code issues

Hi guys, as you can see im new!

ive had a eurovox max v 2008 for a around a year of so now, every now and again i am having to put in the key codes, using the old big mak tool bar which i see has changed to techkings, i just wanted to know if there was anything i can do to stop from having to pput these codes in, i have to do it about 5 times in the past week apart from that i did it last in may i think,

my question is really, would it be worth flashing my box using the guides i have seen here?
if i do will that stop the need to put in the codes and how much time do you have to wait for channel to update?

its just that with the codes, they work straight away, im i being a bit simple here!! and suggestions would be great, thanks in advance guys,, great site btw..

When you flash your box with the latest firmware you will no longer need codes ever again mate

hi, i have tried to put firmware on box, but it wont find my box, says that its waiting for receiver, nothing wrong with the cable as i did a box the other day for a friend, any ideas??

What OS are you using? And cable?

yes ive followed it as far as i can,, i did this the other day for eurvox ex1100 sl slim thingy, worked no probs,

for some reason just not finding my box, it must have been flashed before but even so it should detect it and start over, comes up with com1 com2 com3 com4 weird

And what com is your box connected to? Do you have two? Can you try another?

There's a few Max V experts on here mate so we'll get it sorted.

com1 it wont let me try another, not available, been waiting for receiver to connect for about 20mins now!

Personally I haven't updated one of them in quite a while. Someone will help you from here mate. Sorry. Have you rebooted pc leaving it connected? Thats from pc side.
Actually have you tried with box on standby and if that doesn't work with box on? Should be on standby when updating.
