Had noticed this myself some news is good and relevant but as moh says does the site need to be inundated with news stories that people really aren't interested in , Good topic to throw out there moh

i agree moh.as well most of the news is u.k. ,ireland etc,not from my part of the world.dont get me wrong,some of it is very interesting regardless.i dont advocate getting rid of the news stories,but would like to see more of an emphasis on technology.i would imagine that that will pretty much take care of itself as people get more and more used to coming here,both to give,and get advice.all this aside,i really love this site.

It depends on how intellectual one is I guess?

I love to keep abreast of news and by that I mean all news.

I think that Techkings ia a international forum and because of that we need to cater for all news requirements wherever and whenever we can.

It’s slightly naive or even narrow minded to think that only items related to any one City, County, Province, State or Country should be catered for?

News is also an informative medium and not necessarily one that needs to be commented on or responded too either?

The Stats as I see them shows that our news section has a constant high level of hits. Anytime I’ve looked at the Stats they show 13 – 30 currently viewing.

As with everything we do here at Techkings, user’s thoughts & feedback are always welcomed & looked at with a reasonable approach and dealt with according to their validity.

Sure, people can find news media in abundance at other locations? But can they find so much universal news together in the one place?

As with all sections here on Techkings, no users is obliged to visit anything they do not wish to view or anything that doesn’t interest them.

We also have a very good “Custom Search Facility” here at Techkings which can be used for finding items of interest should one find it difficult to locate particular posts\threads.

Finally, no member of staff at Techkings will issue a ban to a member for voicing their opinion provided it is not abusive, condescending or in anyway derogatory towards another member, member of staff or the forum itself. We at Techkings actively invite users to air their thoughts.

My point is being totally missed here by you Gman with respect....i can absolutely see your point regarding that we are an international community and news would be relevant to to each of us in our own right and yes we do have a good search facility on this site,but should i come on to Techkings and have to search for a post and have to trawl through the media that has no relevance to me to get to a certain post thats if i know what that post was,so what your saying is that i have to search through the sub forums,bypassing the media news?as aldan pointed out its the tehnology that we seek here in TechKings hence the name "tech" not news that we can get on our local paper or tv station or media outlet and not be as hill pointed out inundated with news that we dont need to hear and not relevant to this site,we have plenty of topics covered on Techkings which is why we have such a membership but in fairness do we need an emphasis on current affairs and i was first to hold my hand up to this,any member reading this post look back on the last 30 posts and what do you see.....News Media!....if you cant see my point Gman then i really dont know what to say,i have put as much into Techkings as the next member from day one and thank my fellow members for doing so,but in all fairness if i log on as a new member and see more or less nothing but media then i would reconsider as to why i joined Techkings,and im not advocating getting rid of the media section all im saying is put it to one side if possible to this site,i don't agree with your reply on this thread to aldan Gman unlike you, maybe he doesn't want to contribute to the media section and will contribute other-ways to this forum such as most of us,anyway im leaving this for other members to decide as for me posting this without retribution, then thats what TechKings is all about isnt it ?

I always go straight to the forum its got nothing to do with the home page,im a member of Techkings for quite sometime i dont need a tutorial as to how to navigate around this forum, we could go on about this all night and you wont see my point Gman,ill let this with other members over the next few days and see where it goes from here.Good posts are being lost due to the abundance of media posts being posted if you cant see that then i just dont know....im done with this thread for tonight.

i have a feeling that news from my neck of the woods would mean about as much to you as some of the names in the news here mean to me..like i said i think that the tech thing will come with time.just seem more than a little inumdated with news sometimes,allthough i think i now know more about what is happening in ireland than i do in canada.LMAO
