Ok, so I've got one that is stumping me lately.. I bought one of the western digital media players in the beginning of the year so I could start putting all my movies onto a portable hard drive and use that to watch them instead of having to use the actual dvd.So far,I love it! All the movies I put on it goes as a drag and drop file (the ts folder) and the player brings it up without a hickup. The part that I really wanted was to be able to play a movie just like the actual dvd. ie:to have the menu, chapter selection, deleted scenes ect...I did not want to convert anything to another format and have it play like a vhs tape with no menu,chapters,ect.. So that brings me to a couple problems. Some of the newer movies come up as a very large file size.Last week I tried to copy the movie "no strings attached" to my external drive and it came up as 57gb when right clicked on the ts folder but 7.1 I believe when right clicked onto the D drive to display properties.I finally gave up and copied the disc using 1 click dvd with the dvd43 plugin installed.burned onto a dual layer and so far it works.if I take the copy and try to dump the ts folder onto my external, same problem. It comes up as 57gb. Tonight I am trying to copy star trek 2009 onto my drive and it comes up as 28.9gb from the ts and 7.47 off the D drive for properties.Another one is I have the tv show star trek voyager on dvd,all seasons, and I tried to dump that onto the drive. They are copies of the original discs and I have been glad I made them since they are starting to get scratched up a bit.So I made new copies that play with no problems using anydvd 6.8.0.0 and one click dvd.using the new copy and trying to dump them onto my hard drive, there is one bup file that will not copy and makes it unreadable on my western digital player.I have to be missing something. Why are the files coming up so big and what do I have to do to make them the original size and get them to play properly? The threads I found dealt with copying the movie to another disc and not to the hard drive. After reading through several forums and looking for an answer without asking for help,I am still lost so any help will be great.Like I said,I hate dvd's and want it all on hard drives now until I build a htpc and maybe a home server for all of my media.
