Default Other programs besides DVDFab and AnyDVD

I have a question about other programs to use.

First I have a few programs for my DVD back ups including DVDFab and AnyDVD but do not see any of them listed here. I noticed you have AnyDVD and DVDFab listed for rippers and DVDFab and DVDShrink for compressing and burning. Now what I want to ask is why 1 Click DVD, CloneDVD2, DVD95Copy and DVD neXt COPY is not talked about here.

1 Click DVD, CloneDVD2 and DVD neXt COPY all work with AnyDVD running in the background or you can just use them to open the ripped file saved to the hard drive that AnyDVD or DVDFab created. You can even use DVD95Copy to open the ripped file created by DVDFab or AnyDVD to edit and burn to DVD. I do understand that AnyDVD and DVDFab are the main programs for DVD back ups around but the others I mentioned are pretty good as well. Wait I forgot one Magic DVD Ripper is another good program out as well. I use all these programs but have not seen any of them mentioned her except for DVDFab and AnyDVD.

I know the 2 mentioned here is the best to have but AnyDVD is NOT supposed to be used as a ripper but ONLY a decryptor. I thought I would ask these questions just to find out what every one here thinks about all the other programs I mentioned but as well find out if it OK to post about those programs as well.

The only 2 programs I have ever used that have worked consistantly over my nearly 5yrs ripping. These are the only 2 that have always worked and are continuously being updated.

Clone dvd is more of a copier and is not a ripper, usually used in conjunction with anydvd.

The other programs, to me they are not worth even discussing them. I don't trust them, and have seen more questions and problems being raised using them than anydvd/dvdfab combined.

Well to correct your statement AnyDVD is NOT a ripper but ONLY a on the fly decryptor. They include the rip to HDD feature to AnyDVD for those who do not have cloneDVD2 but use DVDshrink or one of the other programs I mentioned due to the structoral protection on some DVDs released lately. Which is why I posted what I did. I do admit DVDFab and AnyDVD are updated in a timely fashion unlike the others I mentioned but I just wanted to know why the programs I mentioned was not even spoke of here

Its all about consitancy i have about a 99,7% over 8 yrs with just 2 programs
DVD Shrink for the ripping and Convert X to DvD for the encoding

I would not have loads of programs installed because i have tested them all over the years and the only 2 that work as i want are the 2 listed above

convertXtoDVD that is strange as I would have thought you would use CopyToDVD for the vob as I have only used convertXtoDVD for avi, divx, xvid, mov, mkv, wmv and my movies made with my JVC 60GB camcorder . Now I do have what I mentioned installed on 2 of my computers but I do want options when I back up my DVDs. Some programs offer more choice for what you want as I do not want to compress the entire movie for all my DVDs.

Let's say I want to compress certain parts of a movie so I do not have to compress the main movie as much that is where 1 Click DVD and DVD95Copy comes in handy. Ooops sorry I meant to say 1 click dvd pro! DVDFab does not allow that and from what I remember DVDshrink does not do that as well. Yes I prefer to have the entire movie for my back ups as I like to watch everything. Like I said I only mentioned this because we have so many options available and they are not mentioned here. I do want to hear what everyone has to say about this and also I would like to add that DVDFab has a beta available that can do BD+ but you have to be an active member of their new forum in order to get the BD+ beta download.

Well I look forward to hear what everyone else says about the other programs and yes I do know DVDFab and AnyDVD are the more reliable to have in the toolbox but come on we all like to have other choices available to us and I want to know what everyone here thinks and uses

That is not true. AnyDVD is a ripping program in and of itself. It will rip the files to your HDD in file format or as an ISO image, without the use of any other program.

DVD Shrink will allow you to control the compression levels for individual segments of your backup as well.

Out of your additional programs you listed, DVD Next Copy is the only one I have used. And to be honest I was not impressed by the results. Some films it would not handle and a few of the ones that I thought that it did complete, had severe pixelation, even uncompressed. That is just my opinion. What matters is that you are getting it done and enjoying your yourself.

Yeah sorry you did not say what you did which is why I replied what I did and I liked what you said for what you used just was confused as to why you used ConvertXtoDVD and now I know why.

Sure AnyDVD has the ability to rip the DVD to HDD but AnyDVD is NOT meant to be used as a ripper and I think you might want to do more research on it. Also I have not used DVD Shrink for a few years now as it not updated anymore so have forgotten what it does but for DVD neXt COPY and your results or the ones that it was not able to do probably needed an update for those but for the pixelation I have to say it was burned too fast but then you not say what settings was used.

Anyway I just wanted to ask these questions to see why other programs was not used and it seems like this will be a section I will not participate in anymore as most here seem to not experiment with other programs besides AnyDVD and DVDFab. I would also like to add that my main program I use is DVDFab for all my DVDs. Even something I posted about a certain movie on MyCe/cdfreaks has been posted here as reference for members

Without the need to debate definitions, I do know that there has been some rather difficult films that using AnyDVD as the ripper was the only way to get them backed up.
All of my burns are either 8x or 12x for my backups, I experiment at other speeds but that was not the issue as the pixelation was present prior to the burn.
As for you not participating further, I am sorry to hear that. Based on your posts, you seem knowledgable in this area and we could always use more members in this particular area. Most of the experimenting I do comes after the initial rip.
