I must admit ive not seen region free dvd players and have just upgraded to BluRay. But like all films games etc they should be region free so as said we can play/purchase them at home or on holiday or if we travel and without all the crap that goes with it!

RIP OSCAR Decided to let him sleep due to the Cancer taking him away form us. We had the pleasure of loving him from December 04 to September 8th 2009
RIP STITCH we had the pleasure of loving him and him being part of our family from Sept 06 - 13th Jan 2011
RIP OTTILLIE we had the pleasure of loving her and being part of our family from Sept 06 - 8th June 2011

Luckily Linny most dvd players can be made region free with a simple 4 or 5 digit code, I purchased a Toshiba dvd player, googled the model number and made it region free in about 5 seconds
