This is so true, all about advertising now, when you buy a DVD you should just get the film, fook all the bollocks that comes with it which makes you watch it, doesn't give you the option to skip the logos and screen wrights, they charge a fortune for the movie and then add adverts which they then charge there sponsors to show, we are paying enough for each DVD to not have to put up with this crap, can't blame those that choose the alternative option.

Enjoyed that Gman, and as stated above i agree with every word....![]()
I only agree partly with him. As for all the advertisements, I usually can fast forward thru them, and some dvd's actually come with a "press menu to begin movie at anytime" feature during the commercials.
Also, making a back-up of dvd's, the programs come with a "movie only" option to just rip the movie.....no extras, no special features, just the movie.
Region free dvd players are now fairly inexpensive. I have several dvd's from the uk, australia, hong kong, canada......they all work well in my region free up-converting dvd player.
understood rtm, but why should you have to buy a region free dvd player if you already have a dvd player? - as far as i am concerend if you buy a dvd movie, it should be yours to keep, regardless where you travel in the world.for an instance being, - if i was to buy a dvd here in Ireland to either A: send to my brother in Alaska to watch or B: visit on holidays and bring it then, i would not be able to do so?
also i think a point you missed out is the amount of packaging that comes with a dvd nowadays, it is not necessary and in the end only leads to costs to the consumer in either packaging it or getting rid of it. - just my 2 cents worth![]()

NO BS is good with me!!! It's bad enough to pay $20USD for a movie then have to go thru all that crap.... but as RTM said a simple backup will take care of most of the issues.![]()
have to agree with it all mostly the Region free if you buy a dvd you should be able to play it any were in the world and everything else in the clip is so true great clip gman
