Default Need help picking out new dvd burner

My dvd burner that came with my HP finaly needs replaced after around 400-500 movies burnt. What is a good replacement burner to buy? I want the best bang for my buck because I am on a little bit of a budget. Any suggestions would help.

    Thanks

Where are you located mate?? Is it IDE or SATA?? IF in the states I'd consider using newegg.com as a great source for computer parts.. inexpensive too.

    22X burners (SATA and IDE)

    24X burners (SATA and IDE)

This is just a few of the drives that I would think about. I'm not UP on the newer Liteon's but maybe someone can throw out some info on them. Good luck with your choices.

greensman have you bought a blu-ray ODD yet ? I'm looking to get one pretty soon .The Lite-On looks like the one to buy. The new Plextors look great but there rebadged Lite-On's so why pay the extra

Hey ZoSo, long time no see. I have been meaning to ask the same question. Not really interested in a burner, just reader. Maybe our ODD Guru can help us out. :cheesy grin:
