Firefox Not responding

I seem to keep having problems with my firefox not responding. No matter what page i have open if i have more than 1 tab open ( which i do as i have 3 home pages) it will go dull and come up at the top saying ( not responding) then after a few seconds - sometimes longer pages will work.
At 1st i thought it was a facebook thing, but it happens even when a fb page is not open.

Its annoying!! does any one know a reason why or is anyone else suffering this

Linny i was getting the same problem also and quite alot recently, i googled info on it and came across this quote below

"Use the default theme and disable your addons, re-enable them one at a time, restarting Firefox after each one, to see if one of them is causing the crashes."

ah cheers moh! did it work for you. I have not added any thing new since i got new pc back in november, but just seems recently so suppose it could be one of the updates for the addons!

Linny, I see that you are running version 3.6.3 of Firefox. The latest is 3.6.8. You may try updating and see if that does you any good.

ive disabled all addons and have so far added 2 back, will see how it goes over next few days and gradually enable the others. because it doesnt happen all the time its not going to be easy to find which one it might be

ah Ferg sorry didnt see your post as you posted same time as me, i will look for the update now - although i usually get told about updates for it

Another thing that happens occasionally with Firefox is that one instance of it remains running in the background and it refuses to open a second one.

Next time you experience it Linny, try the following.

Do the infamous Ctrl+Alt+Del & open the task manager. Under the Processes TAB, Look for an instance of "firefox.exe"

Right click it and choose end process. Exit task manager & try to run Firefox again.

Cheers Gman. Did the update and put a few addons back and had same problem, so took add ons back off, I have an idea its the Zynga toolbar ( for farmville

) so 2mora im gonna re enable that and see how it goes before i re enable the others.
But so far so good no more freezing since i took off the addons.
