Itunes problem - keeps re opening and stating iphone attached when its not

not sure where else to put this. But having problems with itunes and iphone.

I Tunes keeps opening on the pc - no idea why. No matter how many times you close it it re opens.

Its also saying that iphone is still attached and tries to sync it then says iphone not connected. I have even taken the USB lead out incase its that that got stuck.

A few days ago my son could not update/sync his phone as it said the opposite that iphone was not attached. Since we managed to sync it this has happened. now he has no problem syncing his phone but why would it still say its attached and why does itunes keep randomly opening.

Any ideas on how/why or what we can do to stop it.

Yes have scanned pc and itunes done a pc tuneup - nothing came up, not actually used malewarbytes will try that

I think you should do some malware scans initially Linny, Download and run Malwarebytes. I am on a malware training program that does not allow me to ask for and help with HJT, DDS, OTL logs etc at present Linny. I would not automatically presume malware however, maybe uninstall and reinstall Itunes if you have back up of your music.

my boss had troubles with his iPhone 4 and iTunes, wouldnt sync and it locked his phone somehow, after a day of head-bashing he managed to sorted it out, so i guess its just not only you Linny.

I did a little digging and have found a few people complaining that a add on called "Gimme Some Tune" seems to be causing a lot of people to have the same problem you are having, try deactivating the add on if you have it installed and see if the problem stops and if it does, uninstall "Gimme Some Tune" and reinstall it again.

thats sort of good news = can you find out what he did??

@Jodav did maleware and it like all the others progs i tried showed nothing.

Thanks Icanbe will look on his phone/itunes and see. Not something i recall but then i dont use his phone or itunes. Ive not had the problem hes got so maybe it is something like that!
gonna do that now.

you had any luck Linny? i cant find out for you today because the boss is out of the office on a meeting. Might not be in now for the rest of the day

hes done as the vid said and so far so good - seems to have worked. ( not watched the vid so not sure exactly whata it was he had to do or why it happened)
