If you use autogk to convert the dvd file to avi, it will rip just the audio portion for you. I have used it a few times to rip the audio from a few music videos I downloaded to put the song on my mp3 player.

I am not sure what you meant by that. Did you mean you have to convert to AVI firt using AutoGK and then rip the audio?

No need for that, Any Video Converter will convert a DVD Video_TS folder to another video format(AVI,MKV...), or just directly rip the audio to mp3, AAC,....

It is a great free piece of software. I use it to convert DVD or between different video formats, hardcode subs, cut/split/crop videos, rip audio...

i dont think that rtm was trying to make it any harder he maybe didn't go into it in any technical detail. i have this program, are you saying that i can change a DVD file from my DVD recorder (formerly a video recorder) to AVI files, etc, and use them for you tube etc.as i say i have this prog, but haven't got around to using it
