Skybox f5 - cant change c line

HondaDave

Newbie
Hi,

bit of a novice at this, but trying to change the c line on this F5 but not having much luck,

i created a CCcam.cfg file using nnotepad as per instructions I found on another thread, put it on my USB key and plugged it into the skybox, went to "menu / network local / camds / cccam client / update by USB"

returned error : no new account found.

I then downloaded the LAN tool and it said all went well and asked for a reboot, which I did, but I now have no c line at all,

help!!

Config file needs to be named Cccam.cfg (only one upper case C)
and it needs to be on the root directory of USB

Ahh, that might be it, think i might have put in 2 upper case Cs, I'll check it later when I get a chance and let u know, thanks.

Tried it with only 1 uppercase C, but same thing, all other references to CCcam.cfg are with 2 uppercase Cs, on the skybox itself and on the LAN tool??

Thanks anyway.

My file loads OK on my F5 named as Cccam.cfg
are you putting it on the root directory of your stick

Format the memory stick Fat 32.

Follow the instructions in post 10
of the tutorial here

One C or 2 shouldn't matter but these instructions are tried and tested.

Check the file properties are not CCcam.cfg.txt

See post 25 further down the thread, it sounds like that's your problem

ya, on the root, updated the software (using the stick) to the latest version and tried it again, still no joy, even tried changing the n: in the CCcam.cfg file to uppercase to see if it would make any difference but the same???

If you want me to send you a blank cfg file
so you can just paste your line in PM me your Email address as I can't send attachments
using the PM system

Hi,

Ya thanks, might do that as I can't see what I'm doing wrong, the file def isn't named ".cfg.txt" and I can update the software on the box using the same stick so I don't think it's a formatting issue??

Cheers for replying.

The instructions in post 10 of the tutorial work.

If you put the line in manually you need to change the protocol
to Newcamd for N lines, but the process is the same

I have sent you an empty CCcam.cfg file
but if you are still stuck try this

HTML:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=oU3CsWk1rHI

For an N line change the protocol from CCcam to Newcamd (Right Button)
You will get a deskey down the bottom showing 010203 etc upto 14

Look for the spaces in your line, that makes it easy to
work out what is your host, port, user, pass.

port will be a number.

Thanks for your help bees, I'll give it a go later and let you know how I get on.

Hi all,

Got it working, must have been the file, the one I got from bees seems to be working OK. I put it on the same stick and when I went to "Update by USB" it again read the stick and said "No new account found", so I thought it hadn't worked, I was starting to go through the 2nd process that bees passed on to me and rebooted the box for starters, but when I went back into Camds setup the line was there and working.

Now all I need is a descent channel list, but I'll again have a browse and if I require help with it I'll start a new thread,

Thanks to everyone who responded, especally bees (u da man) (y):woohoo:
