Openbox ,no signal

I have bought two openboxs V8S,one for the living room and one for my sons bedroom,i connected them but cant get a signal on any channel,does it matter that I have two boxes coming from my dish.I did have sky working very well on both skyboxes until I disconnected sky and connected the openboxs,now no signal at all,i gave the box to my friend to try at his house and it worked fine in his house.any ideas?
 
1. Try perform Blind search on a single satellite.
2. Ensure you plug the signal cable in the right connector at the back of the box (not the loop), if the cable is well connected you should be able to view the FTA channels.

If you bought your boxes from places like ebay you may have to update the firmware and your channel list.
 
Thanks for the reply,i am totally new to all this so don't shout but what is a blind search,i have updated the channels.
 
A blind search is a term used to describe the action of searching all transponders for channels/feeds on that satellite.
On your box you will find---blind search/preset search/accurate search---most users will go for blind search looking for new channels.
To do a blind search--go menu---installation---single sat search---fill in requirements and then blind search.

try factory resetting the box, then start from scratch. Ok on factory settings, ok on all and let the box save the data. Now try and update your channel list and your connection, see how that goes

Can I ask what you are trying with the usb? if its a channel update this can be done over the network if you have the latest firmware installed

power off your router and box, reboot the router and only when fully functioning, reboot your box
 
Follow cable from lnb to box---ensure cable is plugged into lnb in female socket at back of box.
Connect HDMI cable to tv and source reads hdmi 1 2 3 on tv depending on which you are using.
Power box on.
Point remote at box and press format on remote until a picture appears on screen---if it does then problem solved

Thanks I will give it a go later,the Mrs as been moaning because I have been trying to sort it out for hours,then the phone stopped working,and to top it all the BT remote stopped working,its only a week old,phone is ok now,i managed to re program the remote so that's ok.
