Scrambled

Hi, my friend has used 2 Openboxes for years, however, they both say scrambled. He deleted the old lines, added new ones, they say online, but still say scrambled when trying to view a Sky channel. All the free channels work fine. I tried his line on my box, an Openbox, and it worked fine. He's with BT, and has had the BT Hub 3, BT Hub 5, and now the BT Hub 6. He's had the Hub 6 for a while now though. I'm assuming it's a problem with his internet connection, but don't know how to fix it. Both boxes are connected via Ethernet. I've tried turning off smart setup on the BT Hub 6, but it still won't work. I've tried factory resetting the router, channel list update, firmware update. Nothing works. So, what's the problem then? Please could someone help. Thanks.

Try rebooting router then reboot box
Yeah, I've tried that loads of times, still doesn't work.

Anyone have any ideas?

a stab in the dark here, are you using a nline?
I'm using a C line, my friend is using an N line, but his N line works on my box. Also, I have the same router.

So his Nline wont work on his but will work on yours, is that right?
Yeah.

Yeah.

ask the provider to change his N TO C, I bet you it works after this change. I'm really not sure as to why this happens but it seems to be a problem on openbox, I know of a few who have been using nlines and then when adding a new one it just wont clear, same connection only as a cline works fine

Just tried another line, a C line, and it works fine. So **** knows, N lines don't work but C lines do. As long as it's fixed. :)
