Check the button on the back is clicked to on. Turn it off and on with that button to reboot. Check the mains socket is working with another device like a hair dryer. [STRIKE]If it is, change the fuse in the h2s plug.[/STRIKE]

If the light is on the PSU then power is getting in to it, the problem could be is power exiting the block?
If it is there is a problem in the box, power regulator or a blown cap maybe?
I'm good with electronics but haven't had a H2s in bits yet :-)

Any way a novice could try something or is it a case of a new box??

I was thinking that would be the case!! I've set up a few h2s for family members!! Its much better but was hoping not have extra cost with xmas coming up!! P.s. i cant go back to an openbox even though its the cheaper option!

Can you solder, use ohms law and a voltmeter? if not then I'd advise you to replace it

Now a few people that have the same kind of thing as this (electric key meter going off) using a s2 and not getting box back on. Dunno if its they way there made or not but ive been using a h2s for a while now and had no issue when ours has gone off.

I've not had a box to bits. But they will all have a regulator or a step down probably a cap or a series of caps to check first and see if they can be sourced and replaced. Trace the power with a volt meter if you can and hope the pcb isn't full of surface mounts. Good luck
