Nline problems - virgin broadband

I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this. I have an edision os mini with an nline and it works flawlessly with an nline from a provider i got from this site. My brother in law saw my setup and wanted the same so he ordered the same box as me and a separate nline from the same provider. I flashed my image to his box and just changed the mgcam.list file. His premium channels drop out daily, sometimes for up to 24 hrs at a time and Ive tried everything. his network test shows as a green tick on everything, rebooted router, rebooted box, restarted cam etc. I checked his line on testious and is always shown green. now and again his channels come back on but otherwise they are off more often than on.

The only variable between my box and his is obviously the different nline and his internet connection. he is with virgin broadband and I am with plusnet. I was hoping someone could help with this

cheers

swap boxes for a day . would rule out internet. check his nline , did you enter it manual or from a memory stick ,

When you installed the image on your box, it will have installed and configured the OS for your box. I know you both have the same OS Mini but if the second box has slightly different hardware in it then using your image may cause you problems. Try a fresh install and see if you have any luck.

Just a quick update, websafe was already disabled. There was a firewall that ive turned off that made no difference. The premium channels tend to come on for about a minute from time to time before distorting and going off. Trying a factory reset now.

does your supplier allow for multiroom?
would the box you put away work ok if you were to disconnect your daughters box ( assuming there both in same house on the same router connection )

put the n line in manual. get a test line to check . i have done numerous boxes using a memory stick and sometimes forgetting to format the stick properly will course the nline to duplicate resulting in one box connecting and losing channels straight away

sorry not looking to hijack this thread daughters at different address altogether and settings on my miricle box have been messed up by me trying in vain to sort it, just hoping for an answer regards using a nline on the kriptview ?

Keep his box switched off. Put his line in your box at your house.

You will then know if it's the internet, as it will not glitch
or the line as it will continue to glitch.

Yes you can use the line in any box you like, however if it glitched in one box it will glitch in another.

Factory reset your miraclebox and follow the guide in the link.

Have a read here

Also, put your line in your daughters box and see if it is stable. See post #10 in this thread

Your line might be off a re seller and not a sever owner, hence the difference in service.

So one re seller two different servers.

I would be very careful entering you unique server details into any website, best asking a VIP or vet to test line in the future

Further update. His line works flawlessly on my box at my house and im on plusnet, Tried it at my dads house who is on virgin broadband, again worked flawlessley.

Am i right in thinking its likely the dish? strangely the only premium channels that work quite well are the adult ones!
