Edision OS mini + wont flash

I had problems with my new Edision box and I contacted the supplier. They told me there was a problem with the Openvix image they pre flashed for me and told me to flash with Openatv instead. I have used 6 USB flash drives, 2 of them brand new just bought today, and it just goes straight into boot and wont flash. Anyone know if there is an alternative way to flash it?
 
Make sure you download the right image for your receiver from ATV, it can be confusing at first

In the list of downloads look for the exact name.

kingston ,cruzer and integral 8gb all work when format to fat32,image downloaded and extracted to usb drive.

also worth checking as some boxes might have a different way of installing images by pressing buttons?

remove any other usb devices first.
 
You have to press the OK button on the remote on my OS mini, don't Know if the + is the same.

FLASHING THE RECEIVER.
1) Power off the receiver
2) Ensure no other USB devices are plugged into the receiver
3) Insert the USB stick containing the image into the rear port.
4) Power the receiver on.
5) You will be prompted on your TV screen to press and hold down ‘OK’ button on your REMOTE to
commence the flashing process. The flashing process will then commence and progress show on TV screen.
6) If successful the receiver will reboot itself after the flashing process has completed.
7) Remove USB stick that contains the image files.
 
You can't update openvix via Internet software update on an Edision os mini due to the vix kernel change.

Last update was 4.2.021.
Newest update is 4.2.023.
After update to new kernel then the software updates are available again.

Easiest way is to go into image manager and download (yellow button) from there then update.

No need for atv, usb etc at all any more.

Guys thanks for your help. I was using the openatv nightly builds for the OS Mini+. I eventually got one to work but what a palaver. Openvix is still playing up I have been told. TBH I am not a lover of Openvix. Openatv seems much more stable. A custom build for the Edision on Openatv would be nice. (y)
 
your lucky got an edison mini here 3 days old and stuck on boot,i can see it flashing image but box seems to go dead with boot on front lol.
 
Hey Willo, I'm new to this so not very confident in what I am doing. I downloaded your latest build for the OS mini.There are two folders in side ( osmini and Formatting drives with bootice ) Is it just the osmini one that I need to copy.
I have tried copying the osmini folder to a usb and flashing the box, and failed.I have also tried copying it to the hdd image backup folder. I have then tried to restore the new osnini image , but failed once again.
What am I doing wrong
 
What happens when you try to flash? There should be an onscreen message telling you to press OK for 10 seconds.
Have you tried the formatting drives option to format your flash drive?
You can also create a zip file from the osmini folder and flash it from the image restore function on the box.
 
I don’t upload my images as a rule because I believe it helps you overcome problems if you make your own however I do have a fresh no line ATV image for the Edision os mini combo IF you get stuck pm me for a dropbox link
