no ip showing for box and lost all non FTA

My son had a red notice come up saying server issue ( He was on IPTV at the time) and he has lost all sly but I cannot find an IP address either. Done Network search but it does not see the IP at all. I have internet and wifi on the system so it is does not seem to point to anything? It did come up saying line had been imported okay. Which I thought a bit strange as I cannot ftp in to try another line without a ip?
I am missing something any suggestions?
 
Try switching router and box off then router on first when done switch box on

Am i correct in saying the message was part of iptv and it lost its connection room to the server of the movie he was watching ?
Have you looked at box network/ device setup and looked for the green dot next to link, too right below small screen .

Right so there is no connection between the box and your router, try restarting your network from there, if not give the box a reboot via the menu not just unplug, and restart router too

Any joy? I would also check all your connections, sometimes they may not be pushed all the way home correctly

Restarted router a number of times and the box but it just says on network test unconfirmed for ip and namserver but in nameser shows the router IP correctly?

If I re flash how will it download the content?

Signal strength is fine but no internet to that box I have moved leads to other things incase it was that but same results. One of my pc's is on the same switch and no problems at all with that no matter what lead dl 30mbs.

If I drop it back to ATV will it be the same or end up bricking it?
 
Don't do a reset. That will bugger it up, you have it in dhcp ? Have you tried network wizard, there had to be a reason why it just stopped, did another device get switched on somewhere that was maybe on same up before this box was set up,

I don't know what you mean by dropping back? You mean reflashing it, make sure you have a back up of your line details

yes take it back to atv . it has whoosh 4.002 at the moment but if I try to put 5.3 on it downloads the update but without ip it will not be able to will it?
 
Your original post says you have Internet and wifi on the system.

Have you tried connecting via wifi too, or just Ethernet?

It is ethernet have not tried wifi as it does not seem reliable from what I have read, BTW this has been working fine for over 4 months without any major issues?
 
I have input ip at the network wizard it still did nothing do you mean at the hub but dont I still need to see it?

I have changed the names of my other 2 zgemma's as it only showed one but each had its own ip so did not think it needed it however I have renamed the others and still not found it when I do a device find/refreash!

UPdate still no joy I have assigned a noumber of ip's Above and below and still unconfirmed. I went to Menu>setup>system>network>device setup to put my WIfi Dongal on but it shows neither the LAn Or the WLan Option? It does say Lan connected but no ip or gateway?
 
Is the driver for the wifi dongle installed? Or was it turned off when configured via lan,

I tested it in the other room where we have the one of the other box’s, which is working fine. For some reason it was intermittent but showed all the details on network test then went back to black screen on that wiring. I have since reset the home plugs to factory reset and the router and the switch and put it on a Sly channel. Once it was all wired up again in the same position as before it showed all but the netserver? I can also FTP into the box now even though in the box settings it does not show the ip? I turned on my pc in the room and once it booted up Sky came on? It still does not show nameserver or ip in settings and IPTV is working?
Happy it is working now but baffled why I cannot see anything in the test or settings? Now need to decide if I upgrade to 5.3 in case it falls over half way though
