ISP DNS or Google DNS for your Sat Box

Is it best to leave your ISP DNS or switch it to Google DNS on your Sat box? Just wondering what everyone else is using or if it even makes a difference? Thanks

I use them because isp's can block your server url at their dns servers, whereas they can't do that at an someone else's.

I've found certain lines wouldn't connect though virmin so changed the DNS to Googles and they connected straight away.

Just changed my boxes dns to googles 8.8.8.8 ip and my ecm times have gone from 0.145 to 0.045. I have read on the net that if you change to another dns not set by your isp you will occur charges because the unlimited download ratio wont be working properly is that true?

Not sure about that, but I've not had any issues.

If its unlimited then why would you get extra charges?
Isps don't care what DNS server you use but if you have issues they will probably tell you to switch back to their own DNS servers before they will help you further

Hi guys sorry for jumping onto thread. This sounds like something I'd like to try. How do I go about setting up my dns to Google? I've got a zgemma h.2s and isp is sky.

Has there been a post on another forum or social media lately. Why is there a sudden interest in this. Lots of posts about it. Which is why I answered the other post (that is linked above)

Maybe... maybe people getting confused by VPNs and DNSs.
Big brother will always be watching.. no matter what you do :)

Probably hoping changing to Googles DNS would stop so much glitch in etc since it should makes your Internet slightly faster.
