Which anti-virus software

Time to renew anti-virus software, been using Kaspersky for years, and was thinking of changing to Norton but when last used years ago found to slow down computer. Just wondering what everyone else uses nowadays, and how they perform with port forwarding for stuff like Plex?

Superantispyware.
thats not an antivirus and is pretty irrelevant these days.i use to use it years ago but malwarebytes has pretty much made it a thing of the past.avast, coupled with malwarebytes free is as good as most need.

I always use Bitdefender, you can pick it up for around £20 for first year. It covers everything and doesn't slow performance.

I haven't used an antivirus programme for 7 years, running win xp on the pc and win 7 on the laptop.
I have malwarebytes on pc but haven't scanned for 18m, ran it on lappy 12m back an it found one or two ropey looking entries, other than that, I'm clean.
Been around the internet for 20 years, can tell when there's an infection and I've not got infected in all the time I've been without antivirus.

how do i know there's not thousands of infections lurking in both machines? - I do an online scan every few months, never found a thing

I use ccleaner, but this is just a maintenance tool, deletes all the accumulated crud but it's a good way of removing programmes and cleaning the registry too

Better the devil you know and all that if it has served you well.....

Sorry to dig up an old thread, however looking for an easy to use antivirus software for my father in law that won’t completely slow down his pc running Windows 7. He currently uses Norton but it just grinds his computer to a stop most of the time.

Is free bitdefender the way to go or what would others recommend?

Thanks
