New to MAG BOX....

Newbie
So my Zgemma has no good channels and I am looking into Mag box to watch mainly the football plus other channels.
I think i've decided on Mag box 254 from iptvuk .co. uk for £70
Where can i get the subscription? Is it a good idea to get a test line first?

Any information helpful, i am new to this..

my advice is test lots of services.
especially peek viewing times.
eg: sat / sunday or evenings..

Also just wanted to mention, I see a lot of people mentioning apps on the Mag box.. What kind of apps are out there and what do they do?

reading your last post, although I am a great fan of the Mag box, if you wish to download other Apps i.e. Showbox for the latest movies, YouTube, Kodi/ Mobdro, you might want to check out a MXQ Pro which is half the price of a Mag box - round about £35. Once you've downloaded a STB Emulator which enable you to load your iptv subs as well as the apps mentioned above. There are plenty online tutorials which guide you through the process.

MAG is a dedicated IPTV box. They are nice and easy to use and set up.
They are designed for the job.

MXQ Pro is an android box, you can put an emulator on it so the menus look exactly the same as a MAG.
You can run Covenant, Terrerium, Mobdro etc for movies and box sets, also you can run a dodgy Netflix licence.

The MAG is better in my opinion if you want just want to run IPTV, I would go for the 256 personally it's twice as fast
as the 254.

If you want all the little extras then an android box is the way to go, maybe an android box with 2GB of ram would be the way to go.

I use the MXQpro (1GB ram) as a backup which I use now and again and it's fine.

Because generally the MXQpro isn't quiet as good on the IPTV side.

The MAG is smoother through the menu's and loads quicker.
It's designed specifically for IPTV.

For a main box I would go for a MAG or a better spec Android box

I should imagine an Android box with say 3Gb RAM and 32GB ROM. £50 -60.
would give the MAG a run for it's money.

The MXQpro is a nice cheap back up box, with plenty of bells and whistles.

No particular box, if it's android the method is the same regardless of the make or model.

It's more about the spec of the box, more RAM and ROM and processing speed the better.

If I was buying now, and it was my main box I would probably go for something like this

H96 Pro+ Plus Octa Core Android 7.1 3GB/32GB tv box 4K Amlogic 2.4G/5GHz UK/EU

or this

2017 T95Z Plus S912 3GB+32GB Octa Core Android 7.1 Smart TV Box Dual WIFI 4K HD

Not much to them, download STBEMU from google play, and run IPTV the same as a MAG.

Download Netflix from google play and get yourself an Ultra HD dodgy pass.

Install ARES wizard through Kodi and load in covenant (Box sets and films)

Load Terrarium, similar to covenant but uses some different links

People set them up differently depending on your taste, but that's more than enough for my use.

There is stacks of stuff on youtube, or you can ask in here.

Thanks, would it work similar to mag in that you can go back 7 days and play anything? also will it record, can i use vpn on it?

Recording comes down to your server, you would need to check with them.

You shouldn't need VPN if you have a decent server but I don't see why it couldn't be used.

My mate runs a MAG from the same server as me
and it doesn't have 7 day catch up or recording facilities, the streams are stable though and there is no blocks on the footy.

Using an Android box, STBEMU is a MAG emulator, it works and looks exactly
the same.

Hi all.
I currently have iptv on zgemma h2s... But I now have to use a VPN to run moat channels...
Just a few questions...

Will mag box channels still be blocked like zgemma?
Is the recording much better on Zgemma? Id like reliable recording....
Is there an epg for mag box?
And what mag box would people recommend?

Any more info would be very much appreciated!

Hi,

If you need to use VPN it is because your server hasn't sorted the problem at their end.
Alot have worked round the problem so you shouldn't need it.

So if you need it for Zgemma you will need it for a MAG, if you stick with the same server.

Recording is down to the server too, some allow it others don't.

Mag has basic EPG compared to E2 boxes.

256 is twice as fast as the 254, as it needs a constant streaming feed, I went for the 256 for some mates.
The streams are nice and stable.

Some people have mentioned recording problems with the 256
i'm not too sure weather it's down to the box or the service provided by the server tbh.

Couldn't test as my server isn't set up for recording on IPTV.
