IPTV Openbox VX Android

Been looking at one of these from Openbox instead of a mag box, has any one got one or seen it in operation,
Spec looks quite good, was thinking of getting one just for iptv.

Roughly the same spec as MXQpro.

Mine worked ok for IPTV

Also, Terrarrium played ok.

Found it stuttered a bit using an ULTRA HD Netflix pass, so upgraded
from 1GB Ram MXQpro to 3GB Ram T95Z, that sorted it.

So if you want to watch good quality feeds you may need a bit more RAM.:(y)::(y):

It's not so much the type of box it's the lack of high quality streams.

If you compare them to HD on cable, they just aren't as good.

I am sure they will get better over time, but in reality the quality just doesn't live up to
what is supposed to be coming down the pipe.

I have read it is due to the streams being compressed but i'm not up with all the technical side
I can only tell you what I have found.

The quality is ok, don't get me wrong but don't believe the hype.

Also, streaming boxes run smoother with more ram if you can get the better quality streams.

That's just what I have found, others may know different.

Good Luck !!! :(y)::(y)::(y):

Thanks Bees, still need to do a bit researching, if my family weren't such tight gits i would just get a decent mag,

But everyone wants it for nothing, but sometimes you get what you pay for,

Just to let you know, as of sending this, openbox Vx back in stock
£26.99 which isn't a bad price as it includes already loaded STB EMULATOR PRO, which would normally cost £4.95 from playstore. Recieved mine this morning.

Satspan be interested to get feed back your HD streams, are they actually streaming at 720 or 1080 ??

You can download the APK file for the STB for free mate,

Resolution coming through at 1080, although quality will depend on which IPTV provider you are using.
I thought it was just the standard emulator was free, didn't know you could the standard one free now.
Initial thoughts, seems a little faster in general navigating than my mxq pro, I also noted one sold on fleebay yesterday UK stockist bidding ended at £35 including six months IPTV sub.

The trial version of STB EMU is free, it has pop up ads on.

The pro version is the same but is ad free

I can post the IPK file for the Pro version if you need it.

received 2 to test.

nice little unit, responsive, slim and modern looking.

stbemu works fine even on fhd channels.

the only tweaks i made in stbemu are below, other than that its performed faultlessly

UNDER COMMON SETTINGS, SCROLL DOWN AND SELECT NETWORK SETTINGS , UNCHECK THE BOX FOR ENABLED NETWORK CACHE

SET EXOPLAYER AS DEFAULT PLAYER AS I SEEMED TO WORK BEST FOR ME.

IN SETTINGS ON THE MAIN MAG SCREEN , UNDER ADVANCED SETTINGS, SET THE BUFFER TO 15 AND SAVE.

Iv'e got one on order so will test it next week and let you know how it performs, i was playing with an openbox V8 and webtv but the box arrived and its a chins version and webtv is pants.
Going back tomorrow,

Any news on how the testing went?

I'm looking at getting the VX2 with 2gb ram so would appreciate some feedback.
Thanks.
