    THIS IS FOR VISTA

Although technically Vista does call the system "Computer" whereas XP referrs to it as "My Computer"

    START
    Right Click "COMPUTER"
    Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like “USB Serial Port COM # or "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm. Port (COM#) or “Communications Port” (COM #) )
    Choose "PROPERTIES"
    Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
    Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2 OR COM 1
also change the baud from the default rate setting of 9600 to 115200
Restart Windows (If necessary but normally not required)

    Hi,
I've just purchased a Kryptview A780 and I would really appreciate step by step instructions on how to start it. When I plug it in it comes up saying 'scrambled' on non free view channels, I assume I have to download some software or firm ware? I'm 18 and would really appreciate some help,

    Thank-you!X

    Hi

give us some specific info about what you have done so far.
what leads you are using, windows system your using, the date of the bin file etc
and if any error messages like " download not requested " if they appear.

The more info we get the quicker we can get you up
    and running.

    Hi,
I think its the 24/4/2011 bin file? I have flashed it now I think, when I plugged it up to my TV I did a SU Update I think, I can check the weather and road reports so I think I'm hooked up to the internet, I'm having problems scanning for the channels, I can only find up to 10 channels and I cant get my area ID thing to come up
Thank-you for replying and helping its very much appreciated

check menu---system info for your firmware date, and it was the kv 780 file you used?
you have the live coaxial cable plugged in from the strongest feed as in no splitters.

    OK your nearly there !!

All you have to do is a " Restore to factory default settings"
    from the installation menu.

Delete all existing channels and then rescan

You will get a list of net id's (regions)up then. They should have numbers next to them
if any match Bobbys post try that first.

You only get the " already exists" if you don't get rid of the old scan
data and it goes round in a loop doing the same thing over again

If you don't get a full channel list repeat the process on differnt areas near you
and that should get you sorted.

Post back to let us and any new members know how you get on !!!
