    Kryptview probs

Hi Guys My Kryptview A780 has been down now for 2 days. Tried rescan and everything with no change. FTA channels only. I have the latest update 26-04-2012 I think but it wont update anyway as there seems to be no internet connection. I use Solwise homeplug to stream data and this has worked fine for years. I also have a Vir*in HD box which is running ok so splitter connection is fine. I do scan with a direct connection by the way to the Kryptview with no splitter. Thing is I had a superhub fitted 2 weeks ago and ever since then the channels haven't been as constant. I read another thread where you told the guy that this had nothing to do with the problem but it just seems a bit of a coincidence. I am in the Exeter area. Any help would be most grateful Thank you

    hi

you could go on the virgin media web site, click help and support
click check service status, put in yours (or another
close by ) post code if your a bit worried and see if there is a local
fault with your internet service. Ive done it a few times
and never had a knock on the door.

Is all your other internet stuff working ?

Can you swap leads on your homeplugs to check if its them ?

Have read the odd post on other sites reporting problems when new hubs have been fitted and
but replys by other say they are in the same boat and it's not the hub.

suppose you can only check what we know as possible faults until there is loads of posts
    blaming the hub.

thing is if your channels keep coming and going it may be a server issue.

Hi bees Thanks for your reply. I've looked at the settings on the vir*in netgear page and the hub finds my main pc and my sons i phone but does'nt find anything connected through homeplug. It worked ok the other day. Now it wont find our PS3 which is also connected with homeplug. Cant find the settings on netgear page to set this up. Gonna have to phone vir*in and see if they can come up with anything. If they help me on the phone can they detect the A780 box while trying to set it up. Thanks

The hub works OK with KV wired, the problem most likely is with the homeplugs.

Try laptop with homeplugs,no good contact VM and say laptop don't work, with KV disconnected

Don't know to be honest, think all they can tell is their
box is not connected to the cable feed but might be wrong.
think you should be ok, if it was me I would take a chance
but thats probably not a good recommendation.

Are you just going to tell them you can't get your PS3 sorted through homeplugs ?
or similar pack of lies and see if they if they can give you some settings,
they may be able to do it remotely.

just as an afterthought have you tried switching everything off
for 30 secs and repowering everything,so the system resets.
It will probably be the first thing they ask you to do.

As lac said it does start sounding like the homeplugs or their
    cables now.

Thank you bees an lac. Sorry for late reply. I've sorted it now and you were right it was the homeplug connected into my superhub. There is a small hole in this one for to insert a pin and reset it and that did the trick. Many thanks for your help.

  10. Thanks bees thanked for this post
