A train speeding through a station in Spain struck a group of people crossing the tracks killing at least 12 and injuring 13, a government official has said.
The long-distance train was passing through Castelldefels Playa station near Barcelona when the crash happened.
The group had just got off a commuter train and were crossing the tracks rather than using a tunnel, according to the official with the Catalonia regional government.
A Spanish radio station has reported that most of the casualties were young people who had arrived in the town to celebrate a party marking the start of summer.
