Jury took 13 hours to reach its verdict

A 73-year-old man has been found guilty on nine further charges of sexual assault against three of his children.
It took the jury 13 hours to reach its verdict at the Central Criminal Court.
The man had pleaded not guilty to all counts of sexually assaulting and raping his two daughters, between the ages of five and 11 between 1997 and 2002.
He also denied sexually assaulting his son from the age of three to six at various locations on the same dates.
The Dublin father was originally facing 113 charges.
Justice George Birmingham directed that the jury find him not guilty on 17 charges.
Yesterday he was convicted on 78 charges, and found not guilty on two charges.
Today he was found guilty of nine charges, and the jury failed to reach agreement on seven further charges.
He will be sentenced on 4 October.
The trial lasted for seven weeks.
