A man armed with a shotgun has opened fire in a street in Bratislava, killing six people and injuring up to 19.
Sky sources say the gunman blasted his victims before turning the weapon on himself, bringing the total number of dead to seven.
A three-year-old child was among those hurt, but is said to have escaped serious injury.
The shooter, who has not been named, reportedly opened up outside a children's hospital in a suburb of the Slovakian capital.
Slovak news agency TASR said the shooting happened on the streets of Devinska Nova Ves, on the outskirts of the city.
It added that the man responsible had started shooting through windows and at people in the street.
A spokesperson for the emergency services said the shooting had taken place shortly after 10am local time (9am BST) and the dead numbered two women and four men.
She said 14 people, including the three-year-old, were taken to hospital, while light injuries were treated on the spot.
