Wayne Rooney has made a sensational recovery from injury and will start Manchester United's Champions League quarter-final, second leg against Bayern Munich tonight.
The England striker had been ruled out for six weeks after spraining his ankle in last week's first leg at the Allianz Arena but Sir Alex Ferguson has decided he is ready to return to the starting line-up.
The news is a major boost for United, who are seeking to overturn a 2-1 deficit. Rooney is United's leading scorer and has emerged as the club's most influential player this season.
Rooney's absence was acutely felt by Ferguson's side on Saturday as United were beaten 2-1 at home by Chelsea, their closest rivals for the Barclays Premier League title.
