Arrest over woman's 1995 murder

Police investigating the death of a woman 14 years ago
have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

Vikki Thompson died in 1995,
days after being found unconscious

Vikki Thompson, a mother-of-two from Oxfordshire, was found badly beaten and unconscious at the side of a railway line near her home in August 1995.

The 30-year-old, from Ascott-under-Wychwood, died six days later in hospital.

A 34-year-old man from Ascott-under-Wychwood has been arrested and is being held at an Oxfordshire police station.

The arrest follows a cold case review into the case by a dedicated team at Thames Valley Police.

does the heart good to see the police solving crimes even if it is 15 years on. it means that the family of victims can finally close the door on that side of things
