Picture Of Madeleine McCann, Aged Six
Police have released new age-enhanced pictures of Madeleine McCann as part of a fresh online appeal for information.
New appeal: An age-enhanced image of how Madeleine might look now
The images were published as officers urged "someone close" to Madeleine's adductor to come forward.
Investigators want a friend, colleague of relative of the culprit to finally reveal the secret they have kept since Madeleine vanished from her bed in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007.
The appeal comes in a 60-second film which can be viewed on the website of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.
The simple film is available in seven languages and it is hoped the public will spread the message across the world.
Multi Lingual Version
Two new age-enhanced images of Madeleine are included based on how she might look today, aged six.
One picture shows her with a deep suntan she might have developed if she is living in southern Europe or North Africa.
The initiative follows the McCann family's concern that little was being done officially to find their daughter.
The Portuguese police shelved their investigation last summer after clearing Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry of any suspicion and failing to develop any clues to the mystery.
The second image
Ceop's head Jim Gamble said: "The person we are looking to reach is likely to be a partner, family member, friend or colleague of the person or people who were involved in Madeleine's disappearance.
"If you haven't divulged your secret because of love, loyalty or fear, be assured that it is never too late to reveal the information to your local police."
He added: "If you are a parent or carer, a student or member of the public who is a social networker, blogger or emailer, or if you run any type of online environment, big or small, please look at the film today, link to it, share it with your friends and post it in the online communities you occupy."
Interpol is backing the appeal and any information will be passed to the Portuguese authorities, who have said they would renew their investigation if fresh evidence emerged.
McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "Kate and Gerry believe this appeal will give fresh impetus to the search for their daughter."

While I suspect that anyone with any sort of heart can kind of understand the anguish.
It takes a parent to really understand.........
Closure to this story is one "Breaking News" article I'd dearly love to see, regardless of the outcome.

yes I would dearly love to see closure also for the parents sake and whether it be a body at this stage or the poor dear child please let something be found.
Honestly and may you all strike me down but I sometimes hope its a body cause I hate to think of the poor kid suffering torment and abuse, so if this is the case a body If its the case a childless couple and no harm put upon then let her be reunited with her parents 
just my opinion

Like everyone else I`m hoping she`s alive & well, & would love to see her back home with her family.
But if not, I would also like to see closure on this, for her family`s sake.

Hoping that she is alive, well, and located soon. This kind of thing is tragic for any parent to even think about.

its not how i imagined she would look. and even the difference between the tanned and the not tanned child is huge.
lets hope it gets the wheels back into motion and actually finds the truth for the poor family.
