Convicted Killer 'Absconds' From Prison

A convicted murderer and former aide to the Duchess of York absconded from an
open prison.

Jane Andrews failed to return to East Sutton Park prison in Kent last night.

A spokesman for the prison service said: "Police have been informed and are assisting with the search."

Andrews was jailed for life for murdering her boyfriend Thomas Cressman, 39, at their flat in Fulham, west London, in September 2000.

She beat him with a cricket bat and stabbed him with a kitchen knife in a jealous rage after he refused to marry her.

Days after the discovery of his body, Andrews was found slumped in her car in Cornwall after taking an overdose of painkillers.
