3 network - better than it used to be

Ha Ha !!!

Nothing like digging out an old post lol

I used a 3 WiFi dongle to run a box and have internet coverage in a touring caravan.

Kids used to use it with Ipads in the car during the journey too.

Tried a couple of different networks but 3 seemed to have the best coverage compared to 02 and Vodafone

Cheers!
Three seem cheapest too, im with EE for broadband and used to get 10gb extra allowance on my mobile deal but they halved that to 5gb.
lookng at comparison sites they seem to be the one that suits me.

Cheers nickyd
Im in Yorkshire but work all over north of England so coverage is pretty inportant.
does the device make a difference?
different antennas internally and different hardware?

for example a Samsung may have a different Antenna to an iPhone and pick up more of the masts signal.

not too sure but got a phone sony xpedia on 3 and have change to Samsung s7 due to damage I live in ch1 but work down the welsh coast, Wirral Merseyside and Cheshire east, the signal I get 99% of the time is awful

IT depends on the mast. We are all on 3 and all have IOS but sometimes the signal is useless. But good thing about 3 if you go abroad & use your phone everything is free ( In certain countries) other providers charge you a fortune.
Coverage is pretty good but again depends on the signal of your handset and the mast that it picks up.

So far its been good. Stuck with them for the all you can eat data really. plus the 30gb tethering if i need it.

I'm in a WA postcode and the signal on the missus' phone on 3 is laughable - outdoors isn't that great but indoors she's lucky if she gets any signal at all.

I'm also in a WA postcode. Both me and the missus get 3 bars of 4g on our phones.

I suppose what part of the WA postcode, you are in?? WA can cover from Altrincham/Knutsford WA16, to Widnes, St Helens and Runcorn.

We're in St Helens - WA9 ... She's just took out a new contract with EE and it's a bit better - she's getting 2-3 bars indoors which is a big improvement over '3' ... I just have a PAYG sim from GiffGaff which is brilliant - I get full signal indoors and outdoors at home and the local area.
