MINI Zgemma H.2H vs Edision OS Mini Combo

I currently have the Zgemma, but recently came across the Edision, which appears to be quite similar. It has a few slight advantages over the Zgemma in that it has built in wifi and Bluetooth and it is also officially supported by the Vix team. The only down side I can see is that it doesn't have a microSD slot, something that I don't use anyway.

I am tempted to upgrading to the Edision but wanted to know if anybody out there has one and what it is like, preferably in comparison to the Zgemma?

Thanks, just ordered one. Need to get it set up the same way as my Zgemma currently running dsayers image (great image btw). There's not much discussion around the Edision, not even at wos forums, but hopefully will be soon.

I received the Edision a couple of days ago, and here's what I found.

1) The Edision has a much better build quality - it just looks and feels much better the Zgemma.

2) The built-in wifi works well - although it was slightly troublesome to setup.

3) Not as responsive - it felt noticeably 'laggier' than the Zgemma, despite having similarly specced processors and being on the latest firmware.

4) Slower channel zapping - it was considerably slower than the Zgemma, especially when switching tuners. The Edision would often take upto 3-5 seconds to zap, whereas my Zgemma would zap in less than a second.

5) Intermittent pixelation on some channels - My unit showed pixelation on certain channels (even FTA ones), despite having a good SNR.

Other owners of the Edision over at WoS forums claimed that their units were working well, so perhaps my unit was just faulty. Either way, I decided to return the Edision in the end, as I found my Zgemma to be a better overall performer.

I hope this information helps someone out there.

cheers ahussain. I am going to upgrade my Zgemma star s2 in the living room. I unsure between zgemma h2s or the Edision. Youve helped me make my mind up.
( was heading with Edision at firsty with wifi and optical output but will now stick with zgemma )
Had no problems with the star s2, gonna put this in kids bedroom.

Ive just received an Edision os Mega, and am experiencing the same lagging problems when it comes to channel changes etc, the remote is crap also, sending mine back

Something wrong with that box then, mine changes channel almost immediately. Remote isn't great but I use an all4one for stb.

I have an Edison Os mini ,,find it very good ,, response with remote very good and the remote itself is an all for 1 ,which came with the box ,,one small problem is that after 2 years the numbers /letters have faded ,but have a spare for €12 .Good WiFi , tuner picks up weak signal (few channels on outer bandwidth)
All in all couldn't fault , was even looking into upgrading to the mega ,,, find that seem to be way better support on the ground for the Zgemma's .
