10% signal openbox v8s

hi all
bought a openbox v8s a while ago of the Bay. finally decided to hook it up. only problem is that when i hook it up to sat dish i get only 10% signal. i even hook it up to comunal anttana for the block of flats i live in still only 10%
im i doing something wrong or do i have a faulty box ?
im complete beginner with all this. so please be patient with me

Need to check your cables or lnb on the dish,Check with the neighbours if its a shared dish
 
its a shared dish but i only have a rf wall point that i use with just tv as for the dish with lnb i got that from a friend and it was working for him
also i can only see 1 sat dish in the sat dish menu options

Your dish might not be recieving signal try repositioning your dish if possible or make sure there is enough copper out at the lnb where cable goes into your box I've had it happen to me a couple of times and I just stripped cable back a bit more on lnb on dish and going to box

If signal is 10% then I don't think you would receive freeview your lnb what goes to your box make sure there is enough copper out of it and not bent
 
il try the the copper cable trick later
do i need to do anything in setup
eg frequncy change / firmware update / channel list update ?
or anything along those lines ?

I don't think so you could try it and see after see what happens
 
Can you ask to try the box at a neighbours flat to see if its working or ask if they are getting a signal on their box,If they are then its a cable or box issue
