Wooshbuild Support Thread

Im currently using a H2S box and cannot seem to get it to flash wooshbuild when i have the usb in it just wont show the FLSH letters on the display just boots into the old image that's on there any ideas?

Hi everyone, i have tried searching for answer to my issue here without success going back many posts. For the last few weeks i am having issues with crossepg info. I have the latest wooshbuild installed on a vu+ solo 2 box and all software updates updated. My crossepg is set to download daily at 04.00 which is does fine but if i ever reboot my box or even look at tv guide some channels are missing the epg data. Last night i decided to reflash my box via downloading a fresh wooshbuild basebuild. I have a 500gb hardrive configured and all went perfectly but i am still having the same issue with missing epg data. It downloads ok but then loses data throughout the day. I have just download it again, checked it was all there and selected a channel. Then i pressed tv again on remote again then selected one of the bouquets and some data is missing again. I thought it might be my external device and reinitialised it but still no change. I have even tried other harddrive and usbs but get the same issue. Its a pain having to keep downloading crossepg. Any help would be appreciated

@didenno mine is exactly the same on a H2S. Any restarts of the box and 90% off the epg goes. Switching from iptv back to Satellite and it goes again! Tried every which way to resolve but haven’t sussed it yet.

Ive had it on the duo
I deleted the epg data deleted the crossepg folder from my hdd, removed crossepg and installed it again and its been fine ever since.

You know ive just cursed it now tho dont you

@makido just done all that (sure I’ve tried this before too!) Deleted epg. Deleted CrossEPG folder on HDD. Deleted CrossEPG Downloader plugin. Restarted box. Loaded and ran CrossEPG Downloader plugin. EPG fully populated. Restarted box and 90% missing again!

Make sure that CrossEPG is set to save to EXTERNAL memory ie. Hdd or an SD card, anything except internal.

Menu/Setup/EPG/CrossEPG/Configure................set to external device.

That was a given Sparky. It’s going to be something really spurious that I haven’t tried or thought of. But, it’s only since the WB 7.002/OpenATV 6.1 update. If I downgrade all is good again!

That's a good one alright, have you checked the integrity of the saved epg.dat file on your hdd?
Have a look at its size after running CrossEPG and then reboot and check it again. Should be exactly the same.

BTW, what are you using to populate the IPTV EPG? I gave up on CrossEPG and just use EPG Importer now to populate both.

I’m using EPG Import for my iptv which is added via my script.

When fully populated the epg.dat file is shown on my HDD but, restart the box and the epg.dat file disappears! Therein lies the problem. Why does it keep getting deleted?

Edit:- after a bit of flicking around channels and epg. The epg.dat file reappears but it’s gone from 13mb to 5mb.

God Knows, and may not be too easy to find what is deleting it, unless you start deleting some plugins (EPGImporter may be a good place to start) to see if one of those is to blame.
As an alternative why not include the Sat channel sources in your EPGImporter and forget about CrossEPG, just a thought....

Re Edit: Yeah that's standard enough and the more channel hopping you do the more it fills in, but no use to anyone :-(

EPG Import check it isn't set to clear data on running as it will wipe it if it is.

The EPG Importer setting I found that resembles clearing data is ‘Clearing current epg before import’ changed the value of that to ‘no’, saved and rebooted. But no change.

However, looking at the EPG import settings I changed ‘start import after booting up’ to ‘never’. Restarted and lo and behold my cross epg data has remained. I’ll monitor for the next few hours whilst I have a flick about.

Thanks Sparky and dsayers for your help.

Ok not a reply but a little question. I already run wooshbuild on My zgemma but a friend has an xtrend et 9500 now this may be a pointless question but I have noticed a wooshbuild for the et8500 but not the 9500 so what I want to know is will the et8500 wooshbuild work on the et9500???
