Fire TV Stick 4K with All-New Alexa Voice Remote | Streaming Media Player

As stuss mentioned
I'm the same really , alexa 2 is fine & responsive
But is the new 4k & faster processor worth the upgrade
Been looking at it , but any benefit with iptv & streaming
Appreciate replies

FireStick are fine, so long as you don't expect the world from them and for the price it's a bargain really. I have a couple in the bedrooms and they work for what I need. If I had to use one as my main source of TV it would drive me round the bend, but for the odd time they get used you can't grumble.

New 4k is retailing @ £49.99 on
pre-order.. I got 2nd gen stick on amazon prime day £24.99. I think I will wait until prime day before I get one.
They make excellent Christmas pressies..

If we didn't own so many of the damn things would be quite tempted by this but not at the moment, I always @stuss love a prime day. Might get my son one for Christmas to go with his new TV.

Problem with buying FireStick as presents is you always end up giving them to people who don't have a clue, you are then their 1st point of call for everything. I stupidly recommended them to people at work when I first started using Kodi etc and now they are constantly bringing them back, can you update this and can you change that.

@dt99 Know how you feel on that front mate even tho I havnt recommended any to family or friends they bring them to me same with zgemma boxes cause my family members with same supplier as me for C/S and iptv instead of going to person who they got them off they turn to me can you do this and that for me it's like I will give my time up just to sort your devices out even tho they get told not to come to me as I didn't supply them lol

It sounds like us 3 are in the same boat here I always say search this on Google or look here but always comes back to me going home with a device. If I'm lucky I get a bacon sandwich for my time on a Friday morning

Just like Dt99 said & others , hit it on the head pal, i'm no tekky at all , & have & are still along way off most of you for knowledge , but your all great help when needed , i just "tatt" & learn but some just wont try with the simple things, infact a guy "divvy" called me this week saying he'd bought a stick but cant find a channel list on it can you help at all,
Kin hell i couldn't beleive it,"sorry NO"
Great work all

£50 for new 4k one is not worth it over priced these things should be like £35-40 max.

I found the adapters which allows it to be hard wired are not that great I expect amazon did this on purpose so people will pay out more for the proper box version.

It's not a replacement for standard firestick.
The 4k stick is the replacemtnt for the fire TV box,

Last year I think I've had mine for about 8 months
Yes that sounds about right time wise so is the stick replacing the box all together then? I did read the other day about a Amazon cube like a firestick/box/Eco/Alexa combo type of thing not sure if they are already on the market or not I kind of lost interest half way through the article

Interested to know why it would send you round the bend out of curiosity... I use one as main use and can’t tell any difference between a stick and amazon fire wired box so wondering if I’m missing something?

I have a 1st gen Firestick, its in the bedroom so don't use it very often. I find it takes a long time to load (well, longer than other devices) and then its like you click a button and then there is a delay between pressing and it doing anything. Once the app is loaded that I wish to use it's fine, it's just the initial start up that annoys me, I'm just impatient.

I did buy a 2nd gen which was a lot better, but I sent it back as I decided to upgrade to an Nvidia Shield.

I used to have a Fire TV box as well, they were good, a lot better than the stick IMHO, much faster etc, I only got rid of that as I bought an E2 box.
