Spared jail: Judge Gareth Hawkesworth warned
the boy that he would have been jailed for six
and a half years if he had been four years older.


A schoolboy raped a five-year-old girl while babysitting her after he was ‘corrupted’ by internet pornography.
The 14-year-old tied an apron around the child’s eyes and made her perform an indecent act on him as he looked after her in her home.
He was caught after the girl told her father what had happened.
The teenager, who is now 15 and is the son of a businessman, later admitted he regularly looked at hardcore pornography on a laptop at home.
He wore his school uniform in the dock at Cambridge Crown Court on Monday as Judge Gareth Hawkesworth told him he would have received a six-and-a-half year jail term if he had been an adult.
Instead, the judge imposed a three-year community order after blaming ‘the world and society’ for his exposure to porn.
Judge Hawkesworth said: ‘You have not shown any particular sexual interest in children. I’m satisfied it was impulsive and I believe you have become sexualised by your exposure to and the corruption of pornography.
‘Your exposure at such a young age has ended in tragedy. It was the fault of the world and society.’
The case has fuelled demands for stricter controls to be put in place to stop children accessing online porn.
The Daily Mail is calling for an automatic block under which adult content would be filtered out by default. Users would have to opt in to see it.
 
this is a weird one, I can see both sides of the judgement, but can't see further than the fact of the crime committed. I don't think a community order is enough punishment.
At 14 years old, he well knew what he was doing. as for the porn on the computer, surely it is well known how to filter out sites by the parents.
 
he should have been made an example of - now youngsters will look at this and think yh if we do it then we will get away with it.

Outrageous - its a crime end of the day - a sickening crime.
 
This is one of the sickest things i have ever heard,that 14 year old should be given the death penalty,his parents should be locked up for getting him a lawyer to defend him,so because wether its true or not he looked at porn he saw it as ok,the lawyer could have made that up as his defense and if not the child should be in care for parental neglect,get the kids name for the future psycopath revue,that judge is an absolute idiot of the capital order
 
I don't really care if the guy was 14, or heck even 10 years old. He deserves to be punished. A 5 year old girl? Like WTF!

I think at 14 years of age he is well aware of what he's doing, what he should and should not do. I can't imagine what the 5 year old girl has to live with for the rest of her life.

He is a scumbag. Period.

Dirty tactics, the lawyer obviously told him to dress in his school uniform to trick the court in showing just how young he was and gain sympathy.

This is only going to let other young lads think they can get away with it, we all know what we were doing at 14 years old, absolute joke.
 
hope i don`t come across the little scrott, or judge i will batter both of them, then plead i play computer games must be the way society is going.
 
think the law needs a good review,rape is rape,if you can get it up you are in charge of your actions be it at any age,i hope this poor girl can get over it and not be affected all through life.
 
Once again it's someone else's fault or something else's fault, what in the hell happened to personal responsibility? This little prick knew exactly what he was doing and no judge or lawyer can tell me or anyone else with an ounce of common sense otherwise.
He should be punished to the full extent of the law and get some counseling to show him how serious of a crime he has committed.
I can guarantee you one thing, if this had of been the judge's or the lawyer's child the out come would have been different.
I read an article awhile ago about someone in the States who beat a guy to death for molesting one of his children, I don't advocate vigilante justice, but god knows some times we are left with no other choices.
Sadly it seems like the justice system is set up to protect the criminals and to hell with the victims.
 
All he got was community service?? Words escape me except to say the judge should be disbarred and removed from the bench!

Having just raped a five year old he has certainly shown interest now,these judges should all be replaced as they live in a different world from the rest of us.

What the bet he does it again,and when he does the victim should be able to sue the judge.
 
agreed with what was said above if the poor young girl had been one of their children ( or maybe even a child of someone in the limelight) it would have been a totally different case.
as everyone has said he knew what the F he was doing - he even covered her eyes FFS! so IF he had been older he would have got a few yrs - yh then half that, so even as an adult he wouldnt have got much.
as said rape is rape no matter what age! lock him up!!

Ultimatly the parents are to blame for not knowing what their child does on the internet.
Sorry but when mine were younger i looked at the history - not that i had any need to but did it for my peice of mind!

If it was my Daughter i would be doing time for killing the little c**t...
Hope the little girl pulls through this as it could ruin her life...
 
theres only one side to this, a beardo judge making seriously crazy judgements. whats going tohappen down the line? maybe this was the chance to nab the little perv while he was in the dock, instead beardo judge gives him a pat on the back, disgraceful. poor girl,
