Adding an external HD

Hello!

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I have a zGemma and recently I've just had to re-flash it after it bricked. I want to save my EPG but don't have an external HD handy.

I was going to purchase one today, is it as simple as plugging it in, initialising it and then saving the EPG to said drive or do I need to pre-prepare the HD in any way?

I also want to use it to record, but have never done this before. I don't even know where to begin, in fact.

Any help you can give me would be gratefully appreciate.

You can save your EPG to a USB flash drive if you haven't got round to getting a HDD. Setup a swap file on the stick after formatting it in fat or fat32 then initialise. Do exactly the same to your HDD, think you can format from zgemma menu.
