Bad weather hits weekend sports fixtures
Snow and freezing conditions have hit this weekend's sporting schedule with football and racing fixtures postponed.
Saturday's Football League matches at Accrington, Bury, Crawley, Crewe, Hartlepool, Rochdale, Scunthorpe, Southend and Torquay are all off.
Big race meetings at Ascot and Haydock on Saturday have also been called off along with several cards on Friday.
Snow is forecast for large parts of the UK on Friday with the Met Office issuing several weather warnings.
The snow is expected to be heaviest in south east Wales, with most of England, Wales, and southern and eastern Scotland expected to be affected in some way.
The Blue Square Bet Premier match at Braintree on Friday is off and Hereford's home match against Dartford on Saturday has also been postponed.
Friday's race meetings at Chepstow, Lingfield, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton are off, along with Ascot, Haydock and Taunton on Saturday and Sunday's card at Towcester is off.
