Blackpool have been fined £25,000 by the Premier League for fielding an understrength side against Aston Villa last November.

Manager Ian Holloway sparked controversy when he made 10 changes for the Villa Park clash on 10 November in order to rest players during a busy week.

The club issued a statement this afternoon to confirm they had been found guilty of breaching Premier League rules B13 and E13 and now have 14 days to appeal.

Meanwhile the Seasiders have signed Morocco international Salaheddine Sbai from French club Nimes.

The 25-year-old left-back has agreed a deal until the end of the season with the option of a further year.
